The challenge for Nigeria is not to be seen as following the leads of other African nations. Sierra Leone is about 4m people and hardly a state in Nigeria. Yet, they seem to have beaten us here on mobile payment. Kenya is too far ahead in this sector. We cannot just wait and allow these countries to be out-innovating us. Our governments must not be reactive. We have to lead and showcase why we are the ‘giant’ in this continent.
