Triviaverse is played in two ways, the first is the one-player mode which comes in three rounds of trivia, and the second is the two-player mode, which has two rounds per person. Also, when players reach certain milestones, they earn badges.

Players must ensure to answer as many questions correctly as they can within a time limit, to aim for the highest possible score. They can either play against themselves or with another trivia buff in a turn-based format.

“Whether it’s challenging a personal best to beat 4,000 points or dueling your friends to reach 10,000 points, we hope you learn something new and have fun!”, Netflix Director of Product Management Rick Sanchez wrote on the company’s blog.

According to reports, the new interactive game will be launched globally on the streaming service, which will be available in nine languages such as; English, Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, Japanese, German, Korean, Spanish (LatAm), and Spanish (Spain).

Netflix’s new trivia game comes a year after the streaming service company began investing in gaming, which the company has disclosed that it would eventually expand beyond mobile games. The company is also exploring cloud gaming and with plans to open a new gaming studio in Southern California.

Due to its promising third quarter (Q3) result, Netflix is deepening into the gaming world as it has already bought three gaming studios, with high hopes that it will yield positive results and impact the company’s revenue.

Also, due to the stiff competition it is facing with other streaming platforms, which it has routinely argued that there’s more than enough streaming viewing time to go around.

Through its gaming service, the streaming giant has deemed it fit to diversify its revenue-generating avenues to sustain its growth and stay ahead of its competitors.

The new interactive “Triviaverse” game, is Netflix’s attempt at understanding what its user base wants, and the company seems to have gotten the attention of its subscribers, as some have disclosed how addicted and interesting the game is.
