U.S. sanctions against Russia are “not designed to be permanent” – US Government

Good People, as you can see I am not writing about Ukraine and Russia. I figured out that, innocently, one could be accelerating the “accepted” talking point. After doing my own independent analysis, and found out that most of the things we’re reading on this war, from the big media houses,  are fake, I switched off.

The biggest problem in this world is when the big media decide on the narratives they want to pursue. If you do not follow along, you become old-fashioned. Like I always say, if most things we read or hear about Africa are true, the global investors will not be pouring the $millions into our startups.

So, Good People, let us focus on what we can control. They now delete posts they do not like. They hide posts they do not like. Yet, they claim that China censors. This world is full of propaganda but the real difference is where you belong.

U.S. sanctions against Russia are “not designed to be permanent” and could “go away” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, should Russia change its behavior. Simply, if there is a ceasefire tomorrow, in days, the sanctions could be lifted. What does that mean? There is a strong mutual respect between the world powers and we the people must not miss that point.

2 THOUGHTS ON U.S. sanctions against Russia are “not designed to be permanent” – US Government

  1. This is so true, Prof. I can control what news I want to read or listen to. What I don’t do is to listen to only one side. Anyone who does this has a “small brain” and is highly intolerant. For a very long time, I often balance news by watching Western media (CNN, BBC, etc.) as well as those from the other sides (such as RT, CGTN, ShanghaiEye, Republic World, etc.). Lately, my option to view these alternative news on Youtube is being censored as RT is no more and every time I search on Youtube for latest news on Russia and Ukraine, I get 90% Western media results. Even if I was watching CGTN, I expect the algorithm to show similar video contents. Instead, I see more of DW, France24, BBC, CNN, skyNews, etc.

This is a summary of commonsense coming in confrontation with their narrative: “If you do not follow along, you become outfashioned.” And such imposition of perspectives on others through visuals and imagery is diluting treasured cultures around the world, thereby giving rise to their so-called Western culture which many view as “modern” and others as “old-fashioned”.

Africa needs a continental media to project our social and cultural views and narratives from our African perspectives. Again, our leaders must do more to bring respect to themselves, their people and their lands.
