I did not vote for him because of his views on education. I consider education a vital path to economic ascension. Nothing can move a person upward more than education. President Trump’s thinking to dismantle the department of education concerns me because generations could be punted as a result.
But when he speaks on geopolitics, his frankness and eloquence are unparalleled. The idea of NATO is the reason we have tensions in this world when you look at what they did in Libya. I do posit that under Trump, NATO would not have destroyed Libya. Since Gaddafi exited, that region all the way to Nigeria has not had peace. But NATO has moved on, untethered to the new equilibrium they created in the Sahel region and its extensions.
Chad, Niger, Sudan and others do not have manufacturers of weapons. But via Libya, weapons have flown, sustaining crises over years. Under Gaddafi, the path was locked. But when he exited in 2011, no country along that corridor all the way to Nigeria has seen peace because small arms have proliferated, as Libya picks things up from the Mediterranean Sea to North Africa, then to West and Central Africa.

So when Trump speaks on NATO, he needs to add another article: NATO must not do pre-emptive attacks as they did in Libya. The impact of that destruction is partly the reason Nigeria is full of bandits, etc with small arms everywhere.
Trump on NATO: If the United States was in trouble and we called them and said we’ve got a problem. You think they’re going to come and protect us? I’m not so sure pic.twitter.com/6FxwLQtdiU
