Tekedia Capital Celebrates Young People in Egoras [video]

This is one of our best investments in Nigeria, not because of the huge paper returns it has generated, but because I have seen how lives have been transformed. When Ugoji Harry pitched his business, the idea of going to the streets and shops, enticing young people with interests or practical capabilities on electronics, bringing them together, training them, and tasking them to create products, excited me. Tekedia Capital funded the business and remains the largest institutional investor.

Today, those young people have responded, building generators, fridges, deep freezers, etc and generating value and unlocking massive opportunities. By Q2 2025, there would be about 1,500 of these REAL solid engineers, superior in all ways than some of us over-educated university engineers (Egoras hires university grads of course…you get the point).

It is in Egoras that I noticed that young Nigerians can be trained to a high level of engineering proficiency even with basic secondary school education. When we bring in the welders, and take them through the processes of “welding for products ergonomics”, within weeks, steel looks amazing, and products are in showrooms. The electronics guys read datasheets, and quickly learn how to get things done!

To all the Egoras young people, I salute all of you. You inspire us at Tekedia Capital. You make me believe that Nigeria has everything it needs to advance. As thousands buy your products during this season in the showrooms, be proud of the impacts you are making in societies.

(Note: I have asked CEO to make sure you have the right gears, gloves, etc as I do not want to see bare hands touching those metals. All safety tools must be provided and used all time).

Fellow Nigerians: shop Egoras products. When you buy, you create local jobs in PHC and Aba. And in 2025, we will be in more cities. The movement  is clear: anyone with a basic technical skill to use soldering  iron, and education to read datasheets properly, or can do minor industrial welding, should have a decent job in Nigeria. We do not need any government to do this, we just need customers to buy Egoras.

Even if Nigeria runs on generators, if we can make and assemble them in Nigeria, the outcome will be better than importing! Egoras plays in core electronics verticals with products that will make life easy for you!
