During the Governorship and State Assembly election on Saturday, March 18, it was reported that cases of security concern, logistic problem and printing errors emanated in some parts of the country which led the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone election in those areas to March 19 or indefinitely.
The areas affected include Victoria Garden City in Etiosa LGA of Lagos State, Asari-toru and Degema LGAs of River state, Kwande LGA of Benue and Bokkos LGA of Plateau.

In Butura ward situated in Bokkos LGA, Plateau, voters could not cast their ballot because ballot papers meant for the ward were erroneously taken to another LGA. According to the state INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner REC who made the announcement on Saturday, the commission resolved to postpone election in the area to March19 in order not to disenfranchise members of the community.
In Asari-Toru LGA and some parts of Degema in Rivers states where election has also been rescheduled for March 19, Voters allegedly resisted deployment of electoral materials as they insisted they have to see electoral officers and result sheets at the RAC.
Election was postponed indefinitely in Kwande LGA Benue state due to printing error of ballot papers.
