The Police Assistance Committee (PAC) has embarked on an intensive information technology training programme for members to enable them relate on-line with the police and other security agencies in the country to boost security services.
PAC was created to offer direct and physical assistance to officers and men of The Nigeria Police Force. This is to enable Police personnel discharge their constitutional duties with minimum stress.
a) To foster unity in crime prevention.
b) To ensure complete security of the State.
c) To check activities of illegal organizations causing havoc and mayhem.
d) To assist the State to revitalize and give logistic assistance relevant in the state security consciousness to all Police organizations and projects against crime.
e) To use the numerical strength of membership of associations under the umbrella of Associations of Tradesmen and Artisans to entrench positive attitude amongst the grassroot towards the Police Force.
Speaking at the ICT training programme held in Lagos for its members, Martins Oni, the Director General of PAC, stressed the importance of on-line communication which he said would facilitate the process of passing on information in secrecy to assist the police and other security agencies in crime prevention and detection.
Oni said all activities of PAC, such as registration of members, collation of data and, contacts with security agencies are all now being conducted on-line.

Also, Police Assistance Committee is organising Seminars and Workshops in all the states of the Federation to educate the members of the grassroots on how to assist the Police and other security agencies in the area of providing them with useful information, digital and otherwise.
