The Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) recently endorsed Samsung Solar-Powered Netebook. That was certainly a good endorsement for the first ever solar powered notebook.
The Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) is the apex body of computer software and related services industry in Nigeria growth of the software-driven IT industry in Nigeria. It was formed in 1999 with the primary objective of being a catalyst for the growth of the software-driven IT industry in Nigeria. It was specifically set up to facilitate business and trade in software and related services and to encourage the advancement of research in software technology. It is a non-profit organization. It will serve as a single point of reference for any information on software industry in Nigeria
Mr. Yinka Tanimowo, MD of Connect Nigeria who spoke on behalf of ISPON boss, Chris Uwaje, during the launch of the product in Nigeria said that Samsung’s notebook is basically what the nation needs. He commended the vision behind the Solar -Powered WERED Notebook which has received good press across the globe. Unequivocally, he endorsed the device:
I therefore wish to congratulate Samsung Nigeria for promoting the concept of knowledge society and sharing the concept and solution of a Solar-powered Notebook with the Nigerian ICT Community. This is indeed a great effort towards resolving a critical challenge presented by the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
