IBEDC Announces Planned Outage In Major Areas In Ibadan

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has announced a planned power outage in major areas of Ibadan between January 9 and February 3, 2023 due to ongoing “planned routine maintenance on the Ayede-Eleyele 132KV line by the Transmission Company of Nigeria”.

IBDEC disclosed this in a public announcement dated January 6, 2023 and signed by management. The document reads as follows:

“Kindly note that due to planned routine maintenance on the Ayede-Eleyele 132KV line by the Transmission Company of Nigeria TCN, customers in Akobo, Akinyele, Igboloyin, General gas, Ojurin, Yawiri, Olorunda, Agbowo, Akanran, Nigeria Army Barracks, IITA, NISER, Lagos-Ibadan Express way areas, Oje, Ogbere, Ogbere Tioya, Olunde, Olomi, Monatan, Iwo road, Airport, New Ife road, Oke koto, Odo Oba, Moniya, Orogun, Ojoo, Sango, Ibadan Poly Campus, University of Ibadan Campus, Gbaremu Market Area, Poly Road, Dugbe, Ijokodo, Ajibode, Premier, Ologuneru, Housing Estate, Aerodrome, Bodija, Express, Okeofa, Ogbere, Newlife crown estate, Impact Business Radio, Olode, Papa, Isopako, Peace Quarters, Oba Akintayo, Eleyele, Water works, Sashaa, Providence Estate, Gethshemene, Okoro, Oke itunu, Alaro, Post Housing, Agbaje, Aba, Apata, Dumoye, Oluseyi, Olopometa, Awotan, Babalegba, Mercy land, Arometa, Apete and environs will be experiencing planned outages between 8am and 5pm daily starting from 9th January till 3rd February 2023.

    IBEDC failed to stand on this yesterday and refused to supply power till this moment without any prior notice. Is this how we go for the next 42 days?
