Very promising assurance from Nigeria's Minister of Finance, Wale Edun
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on August 28, 2023, 7:37 PMVery promising assurance from Nigeria's Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, today: “Per capita has fallen steadily, inflation is at 24 percent, unemployment is high; you know they are rebasing the way in which it’s calculated. Either way, it is high and youth unemployment is even unacceptably high. These are the key metrics that we have met,” he said.
In other words, even though the National Bureau of Statistics considers a person who works just one hour in a week to be employed, Mr. Edun does not buy into that technical nonsense. Because if he does, he can claim that Nigeria is at FULL employment, and everyone can dance atilogwu, owambe, etc with Mission Accomplished.
