United returns to winning ways against Spurs

It was answered prayers for Ole Gunner Solskjaer on Saturday evening as Manchester United were able to claim a much needed win over Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium

With the Norweigan manager under heavy criticism in the recent weeks for his team's performance and with a potential sacking around the corner, Ole took it all in on Saturday and was able to hand the board a bit of a hope in a convincing 3-0 win, as he would now seek to build his reputation and once again secure his role as the manager

United had a lot of hands on deck in training sessions before the match as Frenchmen Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane finally recovered from the international break injuries to join their teammates

Manchester United and Tottenham both had chances to spare in the first half. Fred fired from outside the box in the 32nd minute as Lloris turned it around for a corner.

United found the lead in the 39th minute as Bruno chipped a wonderful cross into the box, far-right, with his compatriot, Ronaldo latching unto it with a superb right-footed volley that went past Lloris and into the bottom left corner for the sixth goal of his return spell

United came back from the first half break with much drive and energy needed to take it all away.
McTominay in the 48th minute, fully in control of the ball, played through the Spurs high-lined defence, and to Ronaldo as the Portuguese smashed a powerful shot into the top of net, only adjudged to be offside by the linesman's flag

United weren't looking to go easy on their opponents as Bruno dis-posessed Matt Doherty in the 64nd minute, laying for an oncoming Ronaldo who sent it through to Cavani for the 2nd goal

There were potential fight backs from Spurs but none materialized as United sealed three points with three goals, the third coming from Marcus Rashford in the 86th minute as Nemanja Matic released the Englishman on the left-flank, Rashford finishing in similar fashion as he had done against Atalanta two weeks ago, to complete the start of a potential turnaround for the Red outfit.

This win however was met with mixed feelings at the Tottenham Hotspur mestadium. While the situation at Old Trafford was momentarily mollified, the pair of Tottenham Chairman, Daniel Levy, and boss, Nuno Espirito Santo, were heavily booed towards the ending of the game, the latter eventually being sacked

There was a lot of positivity afterwards amongst United players and Coach. Solskjaer was full of praise for midfielder, McTominay, claiming the 24-year old was the man of the match by a mile. The Norweigan tactician also applauded the duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani for their partnership and performance at North London.
Ronaldo, Varane, Lindelof and Rashford talked about their cherished win and were obviously delighted to be back in form.
Everything looks to be going on fine for the 20-time EPL winners, at least, at the moment. It is hoped and expected by United fans, board and players that the club can build with such fantastic form displayed on Saturday
