Twitter's Poison Pill for Mainstreet Staff
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on November 4, 2022, 1:09 PMMy sympathies to ex-Twitter non-executive employees who lost their jobs. Like I noted in a post here, pressuring Elon Musk to buy Twitter would be a poison pill for many. Yes, Twitter went to court to compel him. And he has followed through and bought Twitter. Magically, the same people are feeling the pains of his acquisition because for Musk, these professionals are “numbers”.
People, you asked the dude to buy the company. And now he thinks you do not belong anymore. If you check carefully, everything was designed to make Wall Street fine. Wall Street is fine (deal went through) but the mainstreet workers (the non-executive employees) are left alone. I hope they get something. But it may be hard since most acquisitions have double triggers which of course apply to executives but can be extended to any level under most cases.
