It's reportedly based on the book JFK: Coming Of Age In The American Century, 1917-1956 by Fredrik Logevall, which is the first of a two-volume set.

The series is expected to be similar to The Crown in terms of its scope, style and quality. It will cover Kennedy's rise to power, his presidency, his personal and political challenges, and his tragic death. The series will also explore the impact of his legacy on American history and culture.

Netflix has not officially announced the project yet, but it is reportedly in the early stages of production. The cast, crew and release date are still unknown, but some speculate that the series could premiere in 2024, which will mark the 60th anniversary of Kennedy's assassination.

The series will likely face some controversy and criticism, as Kennedy's life and death have been the subject of many conspiracy theories, controversies and debates. However, Netflix has proven its ability to handle sensitive and complex historical topics with respect and accuracy, as seen in The Crown and other shows like The Queen's Gambit and The Last Czars.

Netflix is not the only one interested in Kennedy's story. In 2011, Reelz aired a miniseries called The Kennedys, starring Greg Kinnear as JFK and Katie Holmes as Jackie Kennedy. The series was originally produced by History Channel, but it was dropped due to its controversial portrayal of the Kennedy family. In 2017, Hulu released a miniseries called 11.22.63, based on Stephen King's novel of the same name, which follows a time traveler who tries to prevent Kennedy's assassination.

Netflix's series will likely offer a new and fresh perspective on Kennedy's life and legacy, as well as a high-quality production that will appeal to both history buffs and drama lovers. We will keep you updated on any news or developments regarding this exciting project.
