The Scary Pricing of Petrol in Nigeria
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on September 16, 2024, 2:54 PM“It Does not Make Sense For NNPCL To Sell Dangote Petrol Higher Than Imported Ones” ~ Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN).
That statement is scary because of the possibility. If indeed that is the case, Nigeria is economically frozen. What are you telling me? Dangote Refinery gets the feedstock in Naira, and one would expect that the petrol should be selling around N400/litre since the USD component has been disintermediated.
The nation’s petroleum minister should take over this matter; I am not sure those working in his office are doing his government any good. Simple things are complicated. Yes, there is no model in this world that would make Dangote petrol to be that expensive since the feedstock is going in Naira!
