Roblox is getting in on e-commerce with Walmart. The online gaming platform is launching an e-commerce experience that will allow users to buy real-life products from Walmart, Digiday reports. Users will be able to view and try virtual items in Walmart’s digital storefront before purchasing the products for delivery, and customers will also receive a “digital twin” of each item in Roblox. Walmart’s virtual store is a pilot test that will operate through the end of May in order to help Roblox understand its users’ shopping preferences. If the pilot goes well, e-commerce could become another revenue source for Roblox.
