The China's E-Yuan Playbook
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on February 25, 2021, 6:50 AMWhile the US Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen, was voicing her concerns on the “inefficient” cryptocurrency, China is going around the world, creating a network for E-yuan, the digital version of their currency: "China has taken a step further in its quest to boost yuan through its sovereign digital currency. SCMP reported that Beijing has joined Hong Kong, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), along with the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), to explore cross-border payments for digital currencies."
Personally, I do think that by 2023, China will discount transactions for those that use e-yuan. This movement is real - use e-yuan, get debt reduction or big discounts on new transactions. In the last ten centuries, China has run at least six economically; this repositioning of the Yuan when the US remains frozen on the potential form of money could accelerate its ascension to the top again.
