The Canonization of North Korea
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on December 13, 2017, 8:14 PMThe United States will likely begin speaking with North Korea very soon, if the hermit regime agrees to come to the negotiating table. The U.S. has dropped a major hitherto condition precedent: North Korea must first get rid of its nukes.
The United States is willing to talk to North Korea without the regime first getting rid of its nukes, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said. That's a huge change to the Trump administration's stance. Tillerson said it's not realistic to demand the North dump its weapons program because "they have too much invested in it." (Source: CNN Newsletter)
The implication of this new move is that the Trump administration has seen that the North Korean leader has no choice than to do all necessary to survive. With Muammar Gaddafi dead and Saddam Hussein hanged (two people who disarmed), North Korea's Kim Jong-un knows that doing so will likely result to his own death. So, natural survival instincts will push him not to give us the nukes.
As U.S. invites the nation without the requirement to drop the nukes, I expect by 2019 for North Korea to be ratified as a nuclear power state which must operate within the rules of the game. U.S. has possibly written the manual and will hand it over once North Korea comes to the negotiating table. The instruction will be simple: keep the nukes but follow these guidelines for the good of mankind.
