Suzanne Somers' Husband Details Her Final Moments

Hey, everyone. I'm sure you've all heard the sad news by now. Suzanne Somers, the actress, author, and entrepreneur, passed away last week after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 75 years old.

Suzanne was a legend in her own right. She starred in iconic shows like Three's Company and Step by Step, wrote best-selling books on health and wellness, and launched her own line of products that empowered women to take charge of their own beauty and aging.

They both had been previously married. Somers has a son from her marriage to her first husband, Bruce Somers. Hamel also has children from his marriage to Marilyn Hamel, his first wife.

But more than that, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a zest for life that was contagious and a spirit that was unbreakable. She faced every challenge with grace and humor, and never gave up on her dreams.

One of the people who knew her best was her husband of 44 years, Alan Hamel. He was her partner in everything, from business to romance. They had one of the most enduring and inspiring relationships in Hollywood, and they were always open about their secrets to a happy marriage.

Alan spoke to TODAY this morning and shared some of his memories of Suzanne. He also revealed how he's coping with the loss of his soulmate and what he plans to do to honor her legacy.

Here are some of the highlights from his interview:

- Alan said Suzanne was his best friend and his muse. He said they never got bored of each other and always had fun together. He said they shared everything, from their passions to their problems. He said they supported each other's goals and celebrated each other's achievements.

- Alan said Suzanne was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000. He said she decided to treat it naturally, without chemotherapy or radiation. He said he respected her decision and stood by her side. He said she beat the cancer twice, but it came back for the third time last year.

Following Suzanne Somers ' death over the weekend, the late actress's husband, Alan Hamel, reveals his "beautiful" final moments with her. During an appearance on the Today show, Hamel shared, "I wouldn't say I was surprised. She was heavy breathing at the very end, and I gave her a pill to relax the breathing, but it didn't work."

- Alan said Suzanne's final days were peaceful and surrounded by love. He said she died at home, in their bed, holding his hand. He said he told her how much he loved her and how proud he was of her. He said she smiled and squeezed his hand before she closed her eyes.

- Alan said he misses Suzanne every day, but he feels her presence with him. He said he talks to her all the time and feels her guidance. He said he's not afraid of death anymore, because he knows she'll be waiting for him on the other side.

- Alan said he plans to continue Suzanne's work and legacy. He said he'll keep running their company, Somersize, and promoting their products. He said he'll also write a book about their love story and share their secrets to a successful marriage.

Alan ended his interview by thanking everyone for their support and condolences. He said Suzanne would have been touched by the outpouring of love from her fans and friends. He said she left behind a beautiful legacy that will live on forever.
