Russell Brand Denies Sexual Assault Allegations Made Against Him

In a lengthy blog post, Russell Brand addressed the claims of sexual assault that were reported by a U.K. newspaper, involving four women who accused him of misconduct. The newspaper, which has not been named, reportedly interviewed four women who claimed they were assaulted by Brand in different incidents between {2005} and {2013}. The women alleged that Brand used his fame and charisma to lure them into sexual situations, where he then became aggressive and violent. They also claimed that they suffered psychological trauma and fear of retaliation from Brand or his fans.

Brand, who has been outspoken about his struggles with addiction and his spiritual journey, said he had always been honest about his past and had never hidden his "mistakes and flaws". He said he had changed his life for the better and was now happily married as a father of two children and got a third on the way, around the corner. That’s a very special love he has found . He said he was proud of his work as a comedian, writer, activist and podcaster, and that he had always treated women with respect and dignity.

He said he was appalled by the newspaper's decision to publish the allegations, which he said were motivated by "malice and greed". He said he had tried to resolve the matter privately with the newspaper, but they had refused to retract or apologize for their story. He said he was confident that the truth would prevail and that he would clear his name in court.
