Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on December 16, 2020, 5:42 PMThe world is changing very fast before us. Yes, autonomous driving could be mainstream within a decade, and retail may anchor that redesign.
Walmart and Amazon are making new moves with their self-driving tech that will make driverless vehicles more mainstream in 2021. Since last year, Walmart has piloted a two-mile truck route from a "dark store" fulfillment site to a market in Arkansas, with a safety driver in tow. Next year, the retail giant says it will stop using safety drivers in the program altogether. Meanwhile, Amazon unveiled its Zoox robotaxi, which can reach speeds of 75 mph, doesn't reverse and is being tested on private roads. Google's Waymo and General Motors' Cruise are also developing robotic taxi fleets.
