Pee-wee Herman Actor Paul Reubens Cause of Death Revealed

Paul Reubens, the actor who played the iconic character Pee-wee Herman, passed away on July 30, 2023, at the age of 70. His cause of death was revealed to be acute myelogenous leukemia, a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow . He also suffered from acute hypoxic respiratory failure, a condition that occurs when the lungs cannot provide enough oxygen to the blood and organs. He also had metastatic lung cancer, which spreads to other parts of the body.

Reubens had kept his cancer diagnosis private for six years and did not go public with his health struggles. He apologized to his fans and supporters in a statement that was shared after his death. He said he felt a huge amount of love and respect from them and enjoyed making art for them .

Reubens was best known for creating and portraying Pee-wee Herman, a quirky and cheerful character who starred in movies, TV shows and stage shows. He first introduced Pee-wee Herman in the late 1970s as part of the Los Angeles improv troupe The Groundlings. He then made his film debut in Tim Burton's "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" in {1985}, which was a huge success. He followed that with his own Saturday morning show called "Pee-wee's Playhouse", which ran from {1986 to 1991} and won 15 Emmy awards. He also appeared in other shows and movies such as "DC's Legends of Tomorrow", "Gotham" and "The Blacklist".

Reubens was widely admired and respected by his peers and fans for his comedic talent, creativity and generosity. He was also involved in charitable causes such as Stand Up to Cancer and organizations that support dementia and Alzheimer's research and care. He was cremated and laid to rest in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Reubens will be remembered as a comedy legend and a beloved friend who brought joy and laughter to millions of people with his unique character Pee-wee Herman.
