Ozy Media Collapses
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on October 1, 2021, 9:25 PMKeep it real and make sure everything is organic and natural. Yes, Ozy Media has collapsed after the New York Times exposed its business practice which to a large extent is very common. Yes, a company has arrived and it has 1 million followers. But when you check its last ten posts, not more than 50 people commented/liked any.
But because followers are visible, it can use that “visible validation” to command influence before partners. Like I tell young people, there is no way you could have 50k NATURAL followers on LinkedIn and you can be complaining of no jobs. Why? To hit 50k, the world has seen expertise in what you do and there is reward for that. But when that 50k is not natural, it becomes an issue. Do not score own-goals.
