Our condolences to Nigerian Army for death of Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on May 21, 2021, 6:46 PMMay I join Nigerians to send condolences to the Nigerian Army and the families of the Army boss who died in a plane crash today: “The Nigerian Army regrets to announce the passing away of its Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru . The sad event occurred following an air crash in Kaduna which also claimed the lives of 10 other officers including the crew. The COAS was enroute Kaduna from Abuja on Friday, 21 May, 2021 when the unfortunate incident happened.”
I also send condolences to the families of our other warriors - about 9 of them - who died in this crash.
More so, while we hope to know the cause, it may make sense for a thorough review of the systems: non-combatant military crashes are happening more regularly in Nigeria. The systems need a thorough look as we mourn again.
