Nigeria's Challenge: 6 out of 7 Chinese Students Return
In China, according to a new study, 6 out of 7 Chinese students return back to China after graduation from foreign schools. That is a huge trajectory when you consider that China has excess of 1.4 billion people. In other words, despite the huge population, these people outside China are sure of opportunities back home. And they are going home. Give credit to the government of China for creating such a winning economy that could move students make such calls.
A decades-old trend of Chinese talent emigrating to study and work abroad appears to be in reverse. Today, six out of seven students return to China after studying abroad, up from one in seven a decade ago. The higher salaries and greater opportunities available in China are appealing to overseas Chinese while, according to a Chinese academic, President Trump's anti-China rhetoric has also been discouraging students from staying in America (Fortune Newsletter)
I think this could happen if we have a solid leadership in Nigeria. But in my wildest dream, we may be decades away before such trajectories could happen in Nigeria.
