MTN To Hike Prices
Across the world, prices are going up because of inflation. But when MTN is added to that list, especially in Nigeria, expect new reactions: "Telecommunications giant MTN has revealed plans to increase its Tariff in South Africa, Nigeria, and other selected African markets as inflation bites harder". MultiChoice, the parent of DStv and GoTv, has struggled to increase prices despite showing us what Ronaldo and Messi do weekly, making it possible for the duo to earn some budgets of most African states as annual incomes. Yes, lawyers have blocked MultiChoice and adjusting prices has become a legal matter.
Sure, MTN Nigeria is not in a dominant position in its industry, as MultiChoice is on its own, since we have Airtel and Glo, but do not discount that many will not just accept this price increase in Nigeria.
