Innoson Motors System
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on March 24, 2018, 1:38 PMI got a private InMail that some Innoson Motors showrooms look empty. I had mentioned the company in a post on using African management system to tackle our unemployment challenges instead of just importing foreign ideas.
Sure, I do not have any non-public information about Innoson Motors. But note this: Innoson Motors has been PREPAID for most cars it would make this year. So, with that success, there is no need to have a showroom. Tesla in U.S. does not run an extended one because there are people that prepaid for some Tesla cars that may not get them till 2019.
When you see Toyota and Honda showrooms in Lagos, think of extremely overpriced products looking for buyers. Innoson Motors is within budget and most universities order most cars from it.
So, if the showrooms are deserted, see it as progress. He cannot make enough to show; he needs to expand capacity [we hope he concludes with EFCC as few would invest possibly now]. He understands the challenges and knows he needs to make more cars. Showroom is not a real need now. If you are prepaid and you run on full capacity, the consultants that suggested that he opened showrooms can go there and live!
The lack of inventory could be the invention of a new management system by Innoson Motors. There is no rule that says one needs a showroom to sell cars in this age.
