Global Bitcoin mining industry now uses 56% sustainable energy

The Bitcoin Mining Council (BMC) has released its first report titled “Bitcoin Mining Council Q2 2021 Briefing”. The estimate is that the global Bitcoin mining industry now uses 56% sustainable energy. That is still far from the level that will get Elon Musk back into Bitcoin, but it is nevertheless an improvement.
