Ernst & Young Pauses
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on April 11, 2023, 11:22 PMCertain things are tough to execute, including breaking an advisory company into consulting and auditing.
Ernst & Young is abandoning a plan to divide its auditing and consulting divisions, at least for now. Executives at EY’s American division decided to not to move forward with the split, which prompted the company's global leadership to abandon the plan, according to Reuters, The Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal. EY says it remains committed to splitting the two divisions, but there's no clear path after more than a year of negotiations and a bitter divide among stakeholders, the Journal notes. EY had planned to sell its consulting business after the split.
