COVID-19 Vaccine in Nigeria: Who Goes First?
Quote from Ndubuisi Ekekwe on December 20, 2020, 11:52 AMWe understand the logic of giving covid-19 vaccines to healthcare workers first: if you can protect the moat, the castle will be there for you. Yes, if we protect the frontline-health-soldiers, everyone, at least, will have them to help whenever necessary. But what if this vaccine has an issue - and most of the healthcare workers cannot function at scale? Is that a risk factor for the world?
In Nigeria, for example, some are advocating for our politicians to go first for the vaccines, as risking our doctors and nurses could be a bad playbook. Are we saying that losing our politicians is not a huge risk for the nation?
I am voting present, neither yes nor nay! What is your vote: who gets the vaccine first? Politicians or doctors in Nigeria?
