Blaugranas get balked again at Camp Nou

It was another infamous night for the blue-red outfit as sixteenth placed Cadiz got the better of the recently slumping team. With hurts of a 3-2 defeat to Frankfurt last week Thursday still fresh in memory, the Catalans came into the game with possibly no residual hopes for silverware. Considering their recent run in the domestic league, this was meant to be an unexacting one for the European powerhouse as they had registered big defeats against Sevilla, Madrid, Atletico under Xavi's rather phenomenal tenure.

It was obvious that Barca still hadn't gotten over their UEL nemesis and were looking so lacklustre, humdum and without energy as they scampered through the first half. Cadiz found the only goal of the match in the 48th minute, with Lucas Pérez being able to finish past a displaced Stergen who had just stopped a potential goal in Ruben Sobrino's header. Dembele drew a save from Cadiz's goalie in the 68th minute with a powerful shot from outside the box. Sobrino got Stergen finger tips response to his wonderful shot in the 79th minute while Eric Garcia and Aubameyang failed to give their teams equalizers in the closing moments of the game. In the end the Pirates got away with a 1-0 win away from home. For them it was a much-needed win to help stay out of relegation trouble. For Barça, it was like a compounding of their recent woes and this automatically means that Xavi and co will have no medal hanging around their necks at this campaign's summit.
