After completing his college education, Miller relocated to Los Angeles and secured a position in the mail room of Industry Entertainment. He subsequently signed with the Wilhelmina modeling agency, which provided him with his first acting opportunity. Miller appeared in six commercials, including two for Electronic Arts’ The Sims, as well as commercials for JCPenney, Pizza Hut, and pokerparty.com.
His manager confirmed the news to multiple outlets Sept. 17 saying that the Emmy-winning actor passed away in Austin, Texas, on Sept. 15, two days before his birthday.
Miller was best known for his roles as Billy Abbott on The Young & the Restless, which he played from {2008 to 2014}, and as Jason Morgan and Drew Cain on General Hospital, which he played from {2014 to 2019}. He won three Daytime Emmy Awards for his work on both shows, and was nominated for several more.
Miller was also a talented producer and director, who co-founded the production company 4M, which produced the acclaimed short film Shallow Creek. He also directed and starred in the web series Riptide, which was nominated for a Streamy Award in {2020}.
Miller was admired by his colleagues and fans for his charisma, professionalism, and generosity. He was involved in several charitable causes, such as Smile Train, Habitat for Humanity, and Project Cuddle. He also loved to travel, play music, and spend time with his family and friends.
Miller is survived by his parents, Bill and Sue Miller, his sister Michelle Miller, his brother Ryan Miller, and his longtime girlfriend Kelly Monaco, who co-starred with him on General Hospital. He was 43 years old.
Billy Miller’s death has been attributed to a stroke. This was confirmed by his publicists. According to him, the late actor suffered a stroke as a result of progressive supranuclear palsy, a rare neurological condition for which he had been given a diagnosis in {2021}.
