Bijou Phillips and Danny Masterson Split After Rape Conviction

Masterson was arrested and charged with raping three women in the early 2000s. He pleaded not guilty and maintained his innocence throughout the trial. Phillips later confirmed the incident and said that Masterson apologized to her and they moved past it.

Bijou's lawyer, Peter A. Lauzon, told the news outlet: "Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time. Saying her priority remains with her daughter.

"This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family. Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life. Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter."

Masterson is currently being held at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic, California. He is expected to appeal his conviction and seek a new trial. He faces three additional civil lawsuits from his accusers, who are suing him for emotional distress, negligence, and fraud.
