Three companies, Fasmicro, Microscale Embedded and Pawaak Technologies have applied to the Corporate Affairs Commission to incorporate Semiconductor Industry Association of Nigeria (SIAN) as a non-profit towards the development of microelectronics and semiconductors in Nigeria. They will help government define and develop standards for training and education in designs and implementations in microelectronics, develop policy documents, among others. Their first major task is to establish process and design kits standards that Nigerian students can develop microchips upon. They believe they can help the nation establish a MOSIS like institution in Nigeria.
Membership is open to the general public and organizations in the related field. A website is being designed and will be communicated when it is ready.
