FRANCIS XAVIER is a Finalist of Washington Fellowship for African Young Leaders, 2015 (an initiative of President Obama). He is a Writer, Blogger, Environmentalist and a Consultant on Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Services. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Centre for Responsible Business-Ghana. He also works as Project Officer with CSR Training Institute, Canada. He is currently studying for a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Environmental Studies in the States. He has over fifty published articles and over three hundred daily news/reports and stories in various newspapers, websites and magazines across the world including, The Daily Graphic (Ghana’s leading newspaper), Business and Financial Times, The Finder newspaper, The Chronicle Newspaper, The Good Shepherd Newspaper,, The Development Analyst Magazine based in East Africa,, among others.


Francis has consulted for Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED-Ghana), where he trained over thirty (30) beneficiaries of the organisation as Learner Guides in a programme dubbed, ‘‘My Better World”.


He was born on 8th September, 1984. After obtaining distinction at both the Basic Education Certificate Examination (2000) and the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (2003) from St. Augustine’s J.HS, Jirapa and St. Francis Xavier Minor Seminary, Wa respectively, he proceeded to the University of Ghana, Legon in 2004 where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Geography and Resource Development in 2008, graduating with Second Class (Upper Division). In 2013, Master Tuokuu received a Master of Science Degree in Corporate Social Responsibility and Energy with Merit from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK. He also obtained a certificate (Coursera) in Critical Thinking in Global Challenges from the University of Edinburgh (2013), UK and a Certificate in International Water Management from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden (2007).


Francis worked with Giglets Limited, a media company in Ayrshire, Scotland as International Features Writer ( The company in December, 2012 acknowledged him in their SmartReads ebook “The Snow Queen” and circulated it in over 50 countries in the world! In all of Europe, North America, Latin America, Australia & New Zealand, Japan, India, and more for his contributions to ebook education and marketing. He has also worked with Satrosphere Science Centre, Aberdeen as Corporate Responsibility intern and a Part-Time Researcher at the Robert Gordon University in the UK for the 2013 academic year.


He is a contributor with People with Voices, a Non-Profit Media Organization based in London, UK and a member of Black Bloggers UK and International Network, an organization that seeks to promote black people everywhere in the world.


He worked with Ghana News Link from October, 2010 to December, 2011 as Editor, where he edited and wrote many stories and articles. He was the West African Correspondent writer of “The Development Analyst Magazine” from August, 2009 to January, 2011. Francis also worked as a Freelance Journalist from January to August, 2012 for a number of media houses in Ghana including Africa Watch Magazine before traveling to the United Kingdom to further his education.


He was a Research Assistant at the Centre for Migration Studies, University of Ghana, Legon from September 2008 to September, 2010. He assisted in various research projects and attended many workshops and conferences both home and abroad.


He is not only a prolific writer but a good debater dating back to his Senior High School days where he represented and won many debates for his school. He was best debater in the Upper West Region in 2003 during Ghana’s 46 Independence Day Debate and represented the Region for the Inter-Zonal Debate from the 11-14th of Feb. 2003 in Bolgatanga where he was the principal speaker. He was also Regional “What Do You Know “quiz champion in the Upper West Region during the region’s 20th anniversary celebrations in 2003. He also won a National Essay Competition organized by Prevention of Aids and Drug Abuse Foundation (PADAF) on the topic, “how can the youth help in the fight against HIV/AIDS?” in 2002.


At the University of Ghana, he was best debater during Ghana’s 48th Independence Day debate on the motion, “Ghana has realized her dreams after 48 years of Independence”, where he spoke against the motion.


Francis has always been a good leader. He was the Public Relations Officer of the Association of African Students in Aberdeen, UK, Course Representative, Msc. CSR & Energy Class at Robert Gordon University, UK and a Member of the Editorial Board of Robert Gordon University Students’ Union, 2012/2013 academic year. Geography and Resource Development Students’ Association (GREDSA), Chairman, Educational Committee, 2007/2008, the National President, St. Francis Xavier Past Students’ Association, Students’ Chapter, 2006/2008, Mensah Sarbah Hall, Siren Magazine, Associate Editor/Columnist, 2006/2007, Electoral Commissioner, Nandom Students’ Union, Legon, 2006/2007, University of Ghana Debate Society, Organising Secretary, 2005/2006.  At St Francis Xavier Jnr. Seminary, he was Debate Society President, Environmental prefect and Legion of Mary President from 2002 to 2003.

  1. Wow! What a profile! This is more than a challenge to those of us who are so complacent with the little we managed to gather and yet we pride ourselves about the streets. I just realized how mediocre i have been and must ‘wake up’. I feel shy… The sky is the stepping stone bro, keep up and you will go places. Kudos!
