Subject:     The phoney announcements by CERN

We refer to the CERN announcement of July 04, 2012 on the discovery of the Higgs boson. Before anybody gets too excited, it should be noted, in a rather mild submission, that the announcement is arrant nonsense –it is the height of ignorance and naivety-sheer humbug. It is difficult to accept that the so called scientists would conspire to squander Europe ’s (now) scarce resources in an exercise in futility.

We had earlier made comments on their phoney announcements of late 2011 (after jump) This further submission is a mere icing on the cake. A basic modern physics course has enough ingredients to help settle the two issues, namely, the speed of neutrinos and the particle that gives mass (energy) to other particles without the expenditure of one dollar! We first note that the machine-driven theorists were misled by two kinks in physics: The first is the graviton, which they claim moves with the speed of light! But the graviton is absolutely separated, from our world (an antiparticle), hence no instrument can measure its speed! Thus, it is at rest relative to us. The second is the very crude interpretation of what they call electroweak theory. The particle they call “Z0” is actually the graviton, which gives mass to massive objects; but they erroneously claim that it mediates weak nuclear force.

With the foregoing remarks in mind, we need just two elementary modern physics parameters to settle the two problems, namely, De Broglie wavelength, lD (Louis de Broglie, 1924) and Compton wavelength; lc (Arthur Holly Compton, 1923). The photon, a particle without a corresponding antiparticle, has the least lD, or the greatest speed, and its lc is undefined (lc = ¥). On the other hand, the graviton, an antiparticle without a corresponding particle, has the least lc, or speed zero, and its lD is undefined (lD = ¥). A plot of speed (v) against lc gives a straight line graph joining the origin where the speed is zero, and the value of v where lc = ¥ (here v = c). Thus, all elementary particles have mass lying between m = 0, the photon mass and m = mg, the mass of the graviton – the masses being measured relative to the mass of the graviton, with the mass quantum number a rational number. Similarly all elementary particles have speed lying between v = 0, the speed of the graviton and v = c, the speed of the photon. Thus, nature’s elementary particles are those whose (lc, v) lie on the straight line joining the points (lc, 0) for the graviton and (¥, c) for the photon. This primitive line is in a sense nature’s “selection curve”, all particles whose (lc, v) lie outside this line are not elementary particles of nature.

Science is replete with controversies, but those of physics are monumental. Examples–The Democritian and Aristotelian hypotheses of matter. The atomic hypothesis of Democritus was roundly rejected and the wrong Aristotelian hypothesis was in force for about 2000 years: Another example is the geocentric hypothesis of Ptolemy and heliocentric hypothesis of Aristarchus of the universe. Here again the wrong geocentric hypothesis was in force for about 2000 years! As a consequence humanity wallowed in ignorance until the 17th century!

Between the 17th century and about 1930 intellect-driven physics grew by the influence of the giants of the subject-Isaac Newton, J.C. Maxwell, Albert Einstein, P.A.M. Dirac, Max Planck, etc. Around 1930 intellect–driven physics was “dethroned” and was replaced by machine-driven physics. For about 80 years now human intelligence has been replaced by machine intelligence and physics theory by model theory! We quote Dirac’s position about their method – “Renormalization entails a practice that no self-respecting engineer or scientist would countenance. To neglect infinitely large terms in a series that approximates to a real measurable quantity is absurd”.

To justify the colossal waste that LHC is, the machine-driven physicists came up with two phoney announcements in late 2011.

  1. Speed of neutrino. The neutrino is a fundamental particle which they know very little about because today’s instruments do not have the requisite precision. To determine the speed (v) of neutrino, they need to use Einstein’s relation v = (pc/E)c, where p is the momentum, E energy of the neutrino, obtainable from the LHC machine, and c is the speed of light. If neutrino has mass, as they have finally accepted after years of vacillation, then v must be less than c! Their method will yield wrong result because their instruments are imprecise.
  2. Higgs particle(s). It should be noted that their physics claims that there are up to five different Higgs particles. The fact is that there is nothing like Higgs particle in nature! According to them Higgs particle(s) gives mass to massive particles. If that question is relevant, they should also ask-what particles give basic charge, and Planck’s constant? The truth is that basic mass, like basic charge and Planck’s constant, is a force constant-the units of quantization in the case of mass are rational numbers, whereas they are integers in the other two. Since the early 1980s they have wasted billions of dollars of tax payers money looking for something that does not exist!

In summary, we will not be surprised if they announce the confirmation of their findings in the summer. Of course they have been doing that since the 1930s-quarks, big bang scenario, Bethe’s fusion theory on which ITER is based, expanding / accelerating universe, etc. all of which are mere make-believe. The world should, however, note that global warming, unprecedented violence and frequency of natural disasters, etc. are caused by huge machines like the LHC. Greenhouse gases, for example, make negligible contribution to climate change; the culprit are machines operating at TeV energy range. Unfortunately these machine-driven physicists are unaware that TeV-machines are irrelevant to our understanding of nature; rather these machines are a threat to the survival of life on Earth!

Comments:
  1. If Amagh Nduka actually wrote these things, then I believe he needs to go pick up his textbooks again. From the very beginning to the end he erred, and got worse towards the end…
How can A. Nduka say “global warming, unprecedented violence and frequency of natural disasters, etc. are caused by huge machines like the LHC”….gash….aaarrrrggggghhh!!!

    • I’d rather we leave the merit of this argument for experts to settle. Before dismissing the Prof we need to reflect upon the fact that he did not just say ‘arrant nonsense’, he went ahead to write some postulations, equations and relevant questions to back up his claims.

  2. We confirm that it is indeed his work.

    Bode, Editor.

  3. I hold Dr. Amagh Nduka in a very high esteem and such find it difficult to reconcile his position on the effect of TeV machine as the cause of global warming. The question is now is, if he thinks TeV machines are threats to human existence then we have serious concerns and billions of dollar are currently being spent to develop the more powerful QeV.

  4. If amagh Nduka erred state how, prove it empirically,we need to have alternative ideas.sometimes the truth behind the climate concerns are told because of economic interest just like HIV and immunity issues.we need to commend Prof Nduka for his submissions. He has opened a new dimensions of thinking towards climatic change.

    • Good point. The world lived for ages thinking the world was flat. The Economist magazine wrote few months ago that the developing world must not develop fast because the world will be messed up by global warming. Who is warming the world? The developed one. And they are the ones controlling how the whole world develops. Prof Nduka has a point. We wish he has tools to prove or disprove his concerns. That is where his nation fails him.

  5. How I wish FUTO can give this man the tools he needs. It is a shame that Africa has a man that can think at this level but is crippled because of lack of tools. I am not an expert in his field and cannot comment what is right or not.

Yet, I am so excited that we have a Professor from Africa that has the boldness to open an intellectual dialogue in a leading topic like this. It would have been better if he has a good lab to test his hypotheses.

Notice that most books on African Agricultural Economics are written by foreign Professors who spent one week in Africa. And after those books are written, professors in Africa with decades of experience will start referencing the foreign author. These are babies in the art, but our people lack the confidence to push new alternatives/narratives.

Hey, let the Nigerian Physics(al) Society (?) give the Prof the micr to make his case in an extensive format.

More than a 2,400 people have read this post. Hope one journalist in Nigeria visits FUTO next week to interview him. Right?

  6. As superficial as some of Prof. Amagh Nduka’s arguments might sound, they must never be thrown to the wind. After all, serious scientific investigation into realm of knowledge not yet understood by mankind can and have always been triggered by hypotheses such as these. Having said that, I am not an expert in this field and so would like to limit my commentary to the boundary of my scientific training. But whether or not these arguments call for a serious debate in the domain of particle physics is purely a matter to be decided by the experts in this field.

  7. I align with the Prof that ‘machine driven’ theoretical physicists, whose working tools are man made codes, are the world’s no 1 enemy. All these codes contain ‘micro’ approximations which, at macro level deviate from ‘God-given’ dimensions and as such, introduce more confusions.

  8. I don’t see the point prof is trying to make here. His submission contains references of other people’s theories and works. The scientists at CERN have a purpose and a goal, which is to discover and prove something, whatever it is. I am not even a layman in their field of work. My own take is this; after all said and done, what impact does this discovery or any other one have on our lives; does it improve the way we communicate, travel, handle diseases, produce food and the likes. If the prof has actually done some tests or carried out any experiment to disprove what the CERN scientists have told us, then let it be published. From my little history knowledge, Krakatow (not sure of the spelling) and Vesuvius erupted before the Age of the Machines (reminds me of Terminator and the Matrix movies). My two pence

  9. Prof Amagh Nduka taught me about 3 courses in FUTO years ago. If u attend any of his lectures for only 10 minutes you will know that he is a very intelligent prof who believes in originality. For those of u saying he is wrong, i think you should do so with your facts and figures. Read through his argument, you will find evidences, facts and figures. He is bold enough to initiate the challenge and back them up wth proofs, if u have any contrary argument, prove it, period. He is good and his type are VERY VERY FEW. Go 2 google and look for volume 10 of journal of mathematical physics, the journal that published prof Amagh Nduka’s deduction of NEUTRINO MASS. Victor Essang, its a height to tell him 2 go back 2 his txt books. though he may not be absolutely correct, but in the world of science, particularly physics and maths, he is a giant.

  10. Prof Nduka, I do not understand this complex thing. But I write to thank you for making our voices heard. That alone makes me happy.

  11. Innovations emanate from critical minds like Prof. Amagh Nduka’s. It is like a peer review of research submission, and the authors should be able to put up a point-to-point response to his criticisms of their work if they think he is wrong, or accept them statements he made if there is no serious evidence proving Prof. Amagh wrong.

  12. Even though i don’t completely understand this theory, one thing i know is that Prof Amagh Nduka is a genius and extremely good at what his does. He is my Dad and for one day have never done anything without proof. For him to write and post an article such as this, i really think its something to look into seriously….

  13. Let’s allow Prof. Amagh Nduka to express himself. We should be proud of such icon in Africa to stand boldly to challenge world scientists. There might be sense in what he is saying. I encourage both parties to work together and achieve greater results. Prof. you are great.

  14. If this post came from anywhere else but Nigeria, I believe everyone will want to take it serious. It is 2 weeks gone since Prof Nduka made his remarks on the submission and I am yet to hear any challenge from any where in the world. I am not also an expert in this area however no one can boldly come out to criticize such issue as this if he is not sure of himself.
I must commend Prof Nduka for this remark while we wait for any challenge that could bring possibly bring a solution to global warming???

  15. Prof Nduka taught me most of my courses in school. He’s very learned and revered in the world of Physics and Mathematics.
I am yet to see anyone disprove his theories. His citations are superb and hold lots of merit because he also pools from resources by other notable academics.
Like Joseph said, no one has yet to intelligently disprove his submission.
Prof Nduka has paid his dues, if you haven’t, I recommend you take notes instead of criticizing the man. In the academic world, we scrutinize papers and not the man.
