The Information Technology (Industry) Association of Nigeria (ITAN) has tasked the Minister of Communication Technology, Omobola Johnson on moving the sector forward, listing job creation and capacity building, eGovernment and local content as some of the critical ingredients to achieving the Transformational Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.

At an interactive dinner session in Lagos, ITAN through its new exco headed by Florence Seriki, had assured the minister of the harmonization that had taking place among all Information Communications Technology (ICT) stakeholders and the preparedness of the industry to address its challenges with one voice.

“This is the first time ever that a serving minister will be meeting the industry that falls within the purview of her ministry to seek ways of collaborating and addressing the challenges that the industry players face,” said ITAN’s president Seriki while commending the minister for honouring the invitation to meet the industry.

The interactive dinner session, organized by ITAN, would be the first ever in the industry and was designed to pave the way for industry and government to build a synergy to achieve clear cut goals on advancing the sector.
