The year is not even half over and many are already hailing the Galaxy S3 as the phone of the year. It has received 9 million pre-orders already, making it the most pre-ordered gadget in history. The previous record holder was the iPhone 4S with ‘measly’ 4 million pre-orders. The S3 is to go on sale in the UK and elsewhere at the start of next week (May 29th/ 30th), with the Carphone Warehouse selling the phone a day early in the UK. However, if you wish to get it even sooner you could always consider a trip to Dubai.

The Galaxy S3 has apparently already gone on sale in the United Arab Emirates with one customer, who has already purchased the white S3, uploading images of the unboxing online. Samsung had already announced a global release date of May 29th, with the UK having to wait an extra day and US customers left waiting until June 1st, so the early release of the phone in the UAE comes as a bit of a surprise for many.

The phone was apparently spotted by an individual on a “now available” poster in a local mall who was then informed by a sales clerk that they could indeed purchase the phone. It is unclear whether this was a mistake made by one particular store in Dubai as no explanation has been given for the UAE’s apparent special treatment; although photos that show the Galaxy S3 being removed from its box with all of its accessories included seem to confirm its release over there.

Comments:
  1. Well, probably most of the pre-orders for the S3 Galaxy come from the United Arab Emirates and this might explain the early release in this market. However, this should not be a big deal because the official release is only a few days away.
