AIB Capital on Thursday launched the first interactive mobile-based share trading platform in Kenya, AIB Mobile. Speaking at the launch which was held at Nairobi’s Crowne Plaza Hotel, Paul Mwai, CEO, AIB Capital said that AIB-Mobile is an innovative mobile-based stock trading instrument that uses interactive mobile technology to enables users to buy and sell shares as well as monitor and top up their accounts with AIB Capital using their mobile phone. Customers can also transfer funds for share purchase using Mpesa via AIB Capital’s paybill number 548800.

First log in, select 5. Enter current Pin as received by SMS, enter new pin and confirm new pin.

To see your account balance, select 1 then enter PIN and the account balance will be displayed. Note: Dr denoted debit (owes AIB) and Cr means credit (AIB has your funds)

To see how many shares you have , select 7 then enter PIN. This will give you the number and value of your shares.

To see market news from AIB, select 6 and enter your PIN.

To place buy order,select 2 to see list of Equities with corresponding market prices.

Login again and select 3 to buy shares, enter your PIN, enter equity name as displayed on the Menu 2 viewed above , eneter quantity to buy and wait for confirmation. NB: Your account needs to be funded hence first confirm the available balance on the menu 1.

To place sell order, first select 7 to see list of Equities you have in your CDS account. Login again and select 4 to sell shares, enter your PIN, enter equity name as displayed on menu 7 viewed above, eneter quantity to sell and wait for confirmation. NB: The amount to sell should not be more than what you ahve in your account.

Mpesa Instructions

• Login to your Mpesa menu
• Pay bill
• Enter business number – 548800
• Enter account number (Clients ID or CDS number)
• Client will receive an SMS confirming funds have been received by AIB
