Facebook is accessed by users more from their handsets than their computers, a new report highlights.

The comScore Mobile Metrix 2.0 report reveals that the average amount of time spent on Facebook via a smartphone in March 2012 was 441 minutes – or 7 hours, 21 minutes. This compares to 391 minutes or 6 hours and 31 minutes spent using the website from a computer.

The timings were across iOS, Android and BlackBerry smartphones, and highlight the increasing popularity of spending time on Facebook from a mobile device.

According to Facebook, “If users increasingly access mobile products as a substitute for access through personal computers and if we are unable to successfully implement monetization strategies for our mobile users, our financial performance and ability to grow revenue would be negatively affected.”
