Basic & Advanced Topics on Matlab (3 days)

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the MATLAB technical computing environment. No prior programming experience or knowledge of MATLAB is assumed. Themes of data analysis, visualization, modeling, and programming are explored throughout the course. Topics include:
Working with the MATLAB user interface
Entering commands and creating variables
Analyzing vectors and matrices
Visualizing vector and matrix data
Working with data files
Working with data types
Automating commands with scripts
Writing programs with logic and flow control
Writing functions

Designing with Simulink (2 days)

This course uses basic modeling techniques and tools to show how to develop Simulink block diagrams for signal processing applications. Topics include:

What is Simulink?
Using the Simulink interface
Modeling single-channel and multi-channel discrete dynamic systems
Implementing sample-based and frame-based processing
Modeling mixed-signal (hybrid) systems
Developing custom blocks and libraries
Modeling condition-based systems
Performing spectral analysis with Simulink
Integrating filter designs into Simulink
Modeling multirate systems
Incorporating external code
Automating modeling tasks

Lab1-10

There will be a total of 10 labs  – one per session (morning and afternoon) for the five days.
