Saya Mobile, a startup and one of the products of Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) in Ghana has launched a mobile app that Africa hopes will challenge BBM, ZiNG, Mxit and other chat apps in the top league. Saya Mobile whose mobile chat app try to portray SMS as oldskul,was launched in the last few hours according to Ghanian blogger, Edward Tagoe.

Saya is a cross platform chat application that allows you to send messages without paying for SMS. Because it runs on data, it is virtually free to stay intouch with your friends on mobile. You can send unlimited messages and images to your friends no matter the kind of phones they use. Saya supports Java, Blackberry, Android and iPhones.
